16 Sep – Local multiplex cinema exhibitors, TGV Cinemas, has opened its fifth location in the state of Perak. The new location at AEON Klebang stands out from the other TGV cinemas in Ipoh due to the fact it houses the first ever Beanie hall in the city. "The spacious Beanie seat provides a comfortable cinema going experience to movie goers," said Celeste Koay, TGV Cinemas Head of Marketing Services. The dedicated Beanie hall features cozy bean bags, each big enough to seat two. Normally priced at RM50 each, cinema patrons can currently purchase the tickets for Beanie seats at the introductory price of RM42. Including the Beanie hall, the cinema has six halls in total, with a seating capacity of 1272.
The sixth hall is a Family Friendly hall, where parents with young children can not only bring their kids to but also allow their kids play about in the hall as they enjoy the movie without worry of being chastised by other patrons. Tickets for the Family Friendly hall are priced at RM10 each for adults, RM5 for children below 12 and free of charge for toddlers below 3.
Currently, the cinema is holding an open house from 15 until 18 September, inviting moviegoers to come and watch movies there for free. "Suicide Squad", "Central Intelligence", "Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles", "The Jungle Book", "Lights Out", "The Mermaid", "Zootopia" and "The Legend of Tarzan" are the eight movies that will be shown during the free screening. TGV Cinemas Klebang opened its doors to the public on 25 August, making it the third TGV location to be opened in Ipoh, after TGV Kinta City and TGV Station 18. Another two TGV cinemas in Perak are TGV Cinemas Seri Manjung and TGV Taiping, with the latter also the first TGV location to introduce the Beanie hall in the state.
