15 Oct – Disney is currently in the works of adapting Miguel de Cervantes Saavedra's classic 1605 novel, "The Ingenious Gentleman Don Quixote of La Mancha", into a big screen adventure. What's even more interesting is that "Don Quixote" will be something in the vein of Disney's own "Pirates of the Caribbean" movies. According to The Hollywood Reporter, Oscar-nominated screenwriter Billy Ray ("Captain Phillips"), also known for writing the first "Hunger Games" movie, is penning the script. Ray will also be producing "Don Quixote" alongside Gordon Gray ("Miracle", "Invincible" and "Secretariat"). So far no director or cast is attached to the project. For those who have never heard of the novel before, the story is about Alonso Quixana, an elderly aristocrat who grows obsessive over the tales of chivalry and subsequently loses his sanity. He begins remodelling himself as a knight named Don Quixote and soon sets off on a quest for adventure in search of justice.
