28 Nov – "Ola Bola" has won yet another accolade, this time giving Malaysian singer-songwriter Zee Avi her first ever win at the Golden Horse Awards with her song, "Arena Cahaya". The singer, whose award-winning song served as the theme song for the football movie, shared the "Best Original Theme Song" award with her lyricist and composer partner, Rendra Zawawi. Thanking the organiser in fluent Mandarin, Zee stated that she was surprised when her name was called, saying that she thought she was only invited to give a performance of the song. She also thanked the film director, Chiu Keng Guan, who came to the event with her, for the opportunity to write and perform the song, which eventually led to her winning the award. "This is to remind us all that we are the same. It's incredible to be a part of a project that is based on so much love," she said. The song beat other worthy contenders including Taiwan's Love Without Words ("Lokah Laqi!"), and Leah Dou's "(It's Not A Crime), It's Just What We Do" for the movie "Soul Mate". "Arena Cahaya" previously won the Best Original Theme Song at the 28th Malaysian Film Festival.
