15 Dec – "Orange is the New Black" star, Ruby Rose, is in talks to join the next edition of the "Pitch Perfect" franchise. This was according to Variety who reported, "Ruby Rose has begun negotiations to join Universal and Gold Circle's next instalment in the "Pitch Perfect" franchise". The article also states that the musical will be directed by "Step-Up" fame Trish Sie, taking the reign away from director Elizabeth Banks of "Pitch Perfect 2". But Banks would still reprise her role in the movie where she plays commentator Gail Abernathy and will also help co-produce the film. Ruby Rose will be joined by returning stars Anna Kendrick, Rebel Wilson, and Brittany Snow for the much anticipated movie. The Australian actress is having a busy year ahead with few of her movies such as "xXx: Return of Xander Cage, "Resident Evil: Final Chapter and "John Wick 2" are all set to release next year. Rose also just wrapped production on the Shark movie "Meg", opposite Jason Statham. "Pitch Perfect 3" is scheduled to be released on December next year.
