30 Nov – Live-action movie, "Upin Ipin Jeng Jeng Jeng" had once again become a phenomenon by making around RM3 million nationwide after only playing in cinemas for four days. This shows that the "Upin & Ipin" brand is still intact and remains a favourite among children. Chief Executive Officer of KRU Studios, Datuk Norman Abdul Halim said that they are really excited to hear the news and are delighted by the reception for the movie. "With God's blessings, the unexpected is happening and we are absolutely happy that the audience love it and I believe in the coming weeks, due to the school holidays, the collection would increase further." "Other than that, I also strongly feel that the storyline and the branding of the movie has its own attraction which pulls audiences to the cinema to watch the film," said Norman to AzbaijaTV 2.0. The CEO also added that this is the first time that KRU Studios had partnered with Les Copaque in producing an animated film. The live-action entertainer, directed by Erma Fatima features Puteri Balqis, Asyiela Putri ("Upin Ipin" voice actress), Awie, Remy Ishak, Sara Ali, Gambit Saifullah and many others. "Upin Ipin Jeng Jeng Jeng" opened on cinemas on 24 November 2016 and is currently playing in over 122 cinemas nationwide.
