3 Feb – Even if you aren't much of an animated movie fan, you'll still most likely go watch "Zootopia" if only for the sultry voice of Colombian singer, Shakira. Since the Grammy winner will be voicing Gazelle, an iconic pop singer in the world of "Zootopia", she is, of course, also singing the theme song called "Try Everything". A snippet of the song, written by singer-songwriter Sia and songwriting duo Stargate, was recently shared with fans via a short music video. In the video, Shakira invites fans, albeit virtually, into her studio to be her audience as she sings part of the upcoming Disney movie's theme song.
Fans also get a glimpse of the singer's character Gazelle in the movie, as the slender, female gazelle – with hips that don't lie – takes to the stage to belt out the song. "For the role of Gazelle, "Zootopia's" most beloved superstar, there was only one person on our wish list: Shakira," director Byron Howard mentioned in a statement. "Luckily for us, she said yes. Her immense talent and charm bring Gazelle and her song, "Try Everything", to life."
Directed by Byron Howard and Rich Moore, the movie tells of the lives of the anthropomorphic animals, including fast-talking fox Nick Wilde and top cop rabbit Lt. Judy Hopps, in the city of Zootopia. "Zootopia" flocks into cinemas this 25 February. Before then, take a look at the music video for "Try Everything" below.
