28 Feb – With all the hype surrounding the Best Picture blunder at the recently wrapped-up Academy Awards, one could almost forget that Razzies 2017 took place just a day before – almost. "Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice" and "Zoolander 2" were neck to neck in the Razzies race this year, both had eight out of nine nominations under their belts. But there was no beating the combined power of both Batman and Superman as their movie came out the biggest winner at this year's Razzies! Well, one of the biggest winners. With four wins, the superhero movie is tied with "Hillary's America: The Secret History of the Democratic Party". Though that's probably no proud feat for the stars and makers of both movies, since being a Razzie winner basically equals to being a loser in the film industry. Poor Ben gets a Razzie for his Batfleck performance while brother Casey Affleck takes home an Oscar for Best Actor. Still, Batman and Superman might have some supporters in their corner, as comments have popped up saying that the movie may be a disappointment but it sure doesn't warrant all these Razzie wins. But the Razzies has long been a "joke award" that likes to pick on whatever the internet thinks is the most popular movie to hate and last year's punching bag just happened to be "BvS". Meanwhile, a decade after Mel Gibson finds himself ostracised from Hollywood, the actor-director is slowly redeeming himself this year as not only is he getting big time acting and directing offers again (surely you've heard of his "Suicide Squad 2" talks?), his movie "Hacksaw Ridge" also gets nominated at the Oscars – which in turn earned him The Razzies Redeemer Award!
