Ben Affleck returns for "The Accountant" sequel

Who knew the world of accounting could be so thrilling.

28 Jun – Ben Affleck is picking up the rifles again (and presumably his silat skills) as he will be returning to reprise his starring role in the upcoming "The Accountant" sequel.

Apart from Affleck, it is reported that director Gavin O'Connor and screenwriter Bill Dubuque are also in talks to return for the second movie, according to Deadline.

The 44-year-old actor will be resuming his role as the main character Chris Wolff, whose high-functioning form of autism allows him not only to be excellent at his accounting day job but also his assassinating night job (yes, to those that missed it last year, the movie is about an accountant that moonlights as an assassin).

Fans are also hoping to see Jon Bernthal reprise his role as the younger Wolff, Braxton. However, no word yet on whether the actor will return for the sequel.

The worldwide gross of "The Accountant" sums up to USD155 million. For a movie made on a USD44 million budget, that is one pretty good figure, good enough to warrant a follow-up despite its not-so-ordinary premise.

While Affleck fans wait for confirmation on when the sequel will be released, catch the actor resuming his Batfleck role again in "Justice League", opening in cinemas this November.
