Jack Black back for "Goosebumps" sequel

They're Graveyard Ghouls, not Zombies.

13 Jun – Guess who's back for "Goosebumps 2"? No, you don't have to guess, we'll just tell you – it's Jack Black!

It has been confirmed that the actor would be reprising his role as the literary monster creator, the author of the "Goosebumps" books himself, R.L. Stine.

The news was revealed by the real-life Stine himself on Twitter.

The movie "Goosebumps" was based on Stine's children's horror book series of the same name.

In May, the official title to the upcoming sequel to 2015's "Goosebumps" was revealed to be "Goosebumps: Horrorland" in a promo image of the movie.

It should be noted that the subtitle of "Horrorland" for the sequel movie may suggest a connection to Stine's "Goosebumps" spin-off, "Goosebumps Horrorland", which was written as a series of interconnected stories instead of Stine's usual one-shot story format.

Interestingly, Slappy the Dummy was also heavily featured in the "Horrorland" books, which means he will be returning for the sequel too, according to Stine.

The "Horrorland" book series was set in a theme park that was described as "the scariest place on Earth".

Incidentally, one such park was heavily featured in the first movie, which could be a hint that connects the two movies.

For now, all we can do is speculate as plot details have yet to be revealed.

Rob Letterman will be returning to direct "Goosebumps: Horrorland" with screenwriter Darren Lemke returning to write the script.

2015's "Goosebumps" managed to rake in USD150 million worldwide with a budget of USD58 million.

It was proven to be popular with both young and older audiences who were fans of the original property.

The sequel was originally slated to be released in North America sometime in January 2018, however it was later pushed back to 20 September 2018.
