A total of 13 LFS locations will be under mm2 Star Screen beginning this October.

29 Sep – Starting 1 October 2017, the ownership of a total of 13 locations under Lotus Five Star Cinemas (M) Sdn Bhd will be transferred to mm2 Star Screen Sdn Bhd.

It was confirmed by Mr. Garuna Murthee, Managing Director of LFS Cinemas, who also stated that there will be no changes to other LFS locations.

The locations that will be under mm2 Star Screen from next month onwards are:

• LFS Shaw Centre Point, Klang, Selangor
• LFS 1 Plaza, Kuala Selangor, Selangor
• LFS Riverside Kuching, Kuching, Sarawak
• LFS Summer Mall, Kota Samarahan, Sarawak
• LFS Bukit Jambul, Bayan Lepas, Penang
• LFS Prangin Mall, Georgetown, Penang
• LFS Kampar, Perak
• LFS Kerian Sentral Mall, Parit Buntar, Perak
• LFS Seri Iskandar, Bandar Seri Iskandar, Perak
• LFS Bahau, Negeri Sembilan
• LFS Mahkota Parade, Melaka
• LFS IOI Kulai, Kulai Jaya, Johor
• LFS 1 Segamat, Segamat, Johor

mmCineplexes' Director of Marketing and Business Development, Mr. Jason Teo revealed to Cinema Online that these locations will also undergo brand change. "For example, LFS Kampar will be known as mmCineplexes Kampar."

"We shall be progressively changing the signage, stationary, popcorn boxes, cups and uniforms to the mmCineplexes brand," he added.

When asked whether there are any plans for cinema refurbishments, Mr. Teo replied, "As we are taking over a large number of locations across East and West Malaysia, we need time to assess and plan the refurbishments.

"These will also be carried out progressively in addition to new locations which we will be opening."
