30 Jun – The second era of the "X-Men" trilogy may be over, but it's not the end for Evan Peters' Peter Maximoff a.k.a. Quicksilver. The character, which Peters has portrayed twice in the trilogy, will be brought back for the upcoming "X-Men: Dark Phoenix", according to The Hollywood Reporter. His revival is sure to please fans as the mutant speedster has been a fan favourite since Peters first played him in 2014's "X-Men: Days Of Future Past", followed by a more pronounced appearance in last year's "X-Men: Apocalypse". Familiar faces that will also be seen in the upcoming movie, which was previously called "X-Men: Supernova", include Jennifer Lawrence as Mystique, Michael Fassbender as Magneto, James McAvoy as Professor X, Nicholas Hoult as Beast, Alexandra Shipp as Storm, Tye Sheridan as Cyclops, Kodi Smit-McPhee as Nightcrawler and of course, Sophie Turner as the titular Dark Phoenix. Lamar Johnson ("The Next Step") is joining the cast as a newcomer, though his character is currently kept under wrap. As evident from the title, the new movie will focus on the Dark Phoenix storyline adapted from the "X-Men" comics. Simon Kinberg, long-time writer and producer of the superhero franchise, is penning the script and making his directorial debut with the movie. Production on the movie begun this week in Montreal; it is expected to kick off a new trilogy for the "X-Men" franchise. "X-Men: Dark Phoenix" is scheduled to open in North American cinemas on 2 November 2018.
