Two MBO Cinemas locations close down today

Today is the last day for cinema patrons to go catch a movie at two of MBO Cinemas
locations in West Malaysia.

7 Sep – Two of MBO Cinemas locations are set to close their shutters for good after today, as it was revealed that 7 September 2017 will be the last day of operation for both.

The cinemas in question are MBO Cinemas Batu Pahat Mall, located in Johor, and MBO Cinemas Alor Star Mall, located in Kedah.

Cinemagoers can still catch movies at both cinemas today.

The Batu Pahat Mall location will be closed down due to the mall management's differing plan for the occupied cinema area. However, Johorians living in the Batu Pahat area will still have another MBO cinema to cater to their movie-going needs, namely MBO Cinemas Square One.

As for the cinema patrons living in Kedah, the closure of Alor Star Mall location may be an unfortunate event but there are still two more MBO cinemas in the state that they may frequent: MBO Cinemas Central Square and MBO Cinemas Landmark Central.

When contacted by Cinema Online, MBO Cinemas confirmed that both the locations are under the same mall management and stated that MBO Cinemas Alor Star Mall's closure is also due to the mall management having other plans for the space it currently occupies.

Despite these two cinemas ceasing operations after today, MBO Cinemas is set to continue expanding its growth in Malaysia with the opening of two more new cinemas, MBO AEON Big Falim, Ipoh and MBO Cinema Kuantan City Mall, by the fourth quarter of this year.
