19 Nov – The search is still on to find a replacement director for "Guardians of the Galaxy 3" (also known as Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3"). Word has it, Disney's favourite for the job at the moment is "Bumblebee" helmer Travis Knight, The DisInsider is reporting. Knight was previously shortlisted by the studio for another Marvel movie, "The Eternals", which eventually went to Chloe Zhao. Knight's experience with "Bumblebee" will prove to be useful if he gets the job since the "Transformers" movie is his live-action feature directorial debut. The animator's directorial debut was two years prior with 2016's "Kubo and the Two Strings".
There is some competition, however, as Birth.Movies.Death. is reporting that there is another director rumoured for the directing gig. It is none other than Paul Feig, whose recent works include "A Simple Favor", "Ferdinand" and "Ghostbusters". Feig's name has been mentioned several times prior to news of Knight reportedly being eyed for the role broke. It remains to be seen which of the two directors will get the job or if another name will get thrown into the hat. "Guardians of the Galaxy 3" was supposed to have been helmed by James Gunn but he was removed from the franchise last July due to his past controversial tweets.
