4 Jun – New Zealand actor Julian Dennison is the latest name to be added to the cast of the Adam Wingard-directed "Godzilla vs. Kong". It is not specified what role the 15-year-old will be playing in the movie, according to the Hollywood Reporter, but it is confirmed that he is now part of the cast. Dennison has appeared in several movies since 2013, including Taika Waititi's "Hunt for the Wilderpeople", but it was his role as Russell Collins a.k.a. Firefist in "Deadpool 2" that gave him his big break in Hollywood. Currently, other confirmed cast members include Zhang Ziyi, most recently seen in "The Cloverfield Paradox", and Van Marten, who can be seen in several movies this year such as "Rampage", "The House with a Clock in Its Walls", "Ant-Man and the Wasp" and "Venom". "Godzilla vs. Kong" will be the fourth movie in Warner Bros. and Legendary Entertainment's MonsterVerse, which started with the 2014 "Godzilla", a reboot of Toho's "Godzilla" franchise, followed by 2017's "Kong: Skull Island", a reboot of the "King Kong" franchise.
The third movie in the monster universe, "Godzilla: King of the Monsters", is slated for release in 2019, about a year before "Godzilla vs. Kong" stomps into North American cinemas on 22 May 2020. Some of the cast members from the 2019 threequel, such as Kyle Chandler, Vera Farmiga and Millie Bobby Brown, are expected to return for the 2020 finale.
