8 May – With a decent amount of box office numbers, the Ryan Reynolds and Samuel L. Jackson buddy cop movie, "The Hitman's Bodyguard", is getting a sequel. Titled "The Hitman's Wife's Bodyguard", the action comedy movie is seen listed at the Cannes Film Festival as one of Millennium Films' slate of upcoming movies, which also include "Angel Has Fallen", "The Expendables 4", "Rambo V", and "Mechanic 3", as reported by The Hollywood Reporter. Casting details for the movie are not yet confirmed but seeing that Reynolds and Jackson's outstanding chemistry was what made the first movie good, it is safe to assume that the studio would want them back for the sequel. Judging by the sequel's title, it would seem like Salma Hayek's character, Sonia Kincaid, will be the main focus of the movie as opposed to being a supporting character like in the previous one.
"The Hitman's Bodyguard" follows a former protection agent tasked to protect one of the world's notorious hitmen from any form of danger issued by a merciless Eastern European dictator. The Patrick Hughes-directed movie did fairly well at the box office collecting around USD 177 million worldwide.
