2 Apr – Colin Trevorrow will make his way back to Isla Nublar as he returns once again to direct the third and final instalment of "Jurassic World", unofficially titled "Jurassic World 3". Executive producer Steven Spielberg confirmed to Entertainment Weekly that Trevorrow will direct the third movie, which is scheduled to release on 11 June 2021. Trevorrow will also write its screenplay alongside Emily Carmichael, based on his own story with long-time writing partner, Derek Connolly.
The American director jumpstarted the "Jurassic Park" franchise with a new trilogy in 2015 when he made "Jurassic World", which became a massive hit, raking over USD1.67 billion worldwide. Since then, Trevorrow went on to direct "The Book of Henry" and was offered the director's chair for another global franchise, "Star Wars: Episode IX", but later left the project due to creative differences. "Jurassic World 3" is not coming out until 2021 but the story continues in this year's "Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom", where Owen Grady (Chris Pratt) and Claire Dearing (Bryce Dallas Howard) return on the fictional island of Isla Nublar to save the remaining dinosaurs from a volcanic eruption threatening to end all lives. "Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom" will be released this 7 June and is directed by J.A. Bayona.
