23 May – Just two months ago, it was announced that the "Men in Black" spinoff will be moving forward with two "Thor: Ragnarok" stars headlining it. Now Liam Neeson is part of the cast. Neeson will be joining the cast as the head of the Men in Black organisation's U.K. branch, Variety reports. The American counterpart of the role in the original series was portrayed by Rip Torn. This time the movie will kick off in London, hence the focus on a different branch, though it will be set in the same onscreen universe as the original trilogy. While Neeson's role is already revealed, Thompson's and Hemsworth's are both still kept under wraps. It is only known that they will not be the same as the characters played by Will Smith and Tommy Lee Jones.
To be directed by "Fate and Furious 8" helmer F. Gary Gray off a script by "Iron Man" writers, Matt Holloway and Art Marcum, the movie will have retuning producers Walter F. Parkes and Laurie MacDonald on board, with Steven Spielberg back as executive producer. Neeson, who was last seen in "The Commuter", has two more movies coming up this year, "Widows" and "Hard Powder". Currently, the "Men in Black" spinoff is his only movie slated for release next year, as it is scheduled to open in North American cinemas on 14 June 2019.
