22 Dec - A new cinema is opening soon in the heart of Damansara Jaya.
MBO Cinemas which is set to open its doors any day now, is a 8 hall cinema that features four standard digital halls, a Big Screen, a Samsung Onyx - and perhaps its most exciting addition - not one, but two of its much in demand MBO Kecil halls.
The Big Screen hall which features a gigantic screen with Dolby Atmos sound system is the chain's fifth in the country after MBO Starling Mall, MBO Falim Mall Ipoh, MBO Elements Mall Melaka and MBO Kuantan City Mall.
The Samsung Onyx hall houses a 4K LED screen and is the chain's first ever hall and the second in the country, after GSC introduced the technology at their Mid Valley location back in June 2018.
The MBO Kecil halls is a dedicated cinema space for parents and their kids with features like the Kecil Sofabed, bean bags and a playground to keep the little ones entertained.
"With the launch of MBO Atria, we want the local community as well as new visitors to have a different perspective when going to the cinemas. Audiences are guaranteed to be delighted with a cinematic experience of high-end technology, that they may even forget they are sitting in a theatre," said MBO Cinemas' Chief Operations Officer, Mr. Cheah Chun Wai.
He added that the MBO Atria location has two MBO Kecil halls as it was specifically requested by the residents of the area.
Aside from the halls, MBO Atria is also the chain's first location to introduce a cashless ticketing kiosk and Coca Cola Freestyle dispensers.
The self-service kiosk enables moviegoers with an alternative option aside from the box office counters to quickly purchase tickets and potentially reduce queue times.
With Coca Cola Freestyle, moviegoers can choose a variety of flavours with over 50 drink combination choices via an interactive touchscreen dispenser.
MBO Atria has a total capacity of 1229 seats and Cafecito – a unique coffeehouse themed concession stand serving fancy beverages and light snacks.
