30 Apr – Another A-list actress is in talks to join the sequel to the live-action take on the villainous fairy, Maleficent. Variety reported that Michelle Pfeiffer is in advanced talks to star in the sequel to 2014's "Maleficent", in which she is expected to play a queen. The three-time Academy Award nominee will join Ed Skrein, who was just recently cast, and the returning Angelina Jolie and Elle Fanning in the sequel directed by Joachim Rønning of "Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Men Tell No Tales" fame. The "Maleficent" sequel is one of the many planned Disney projects to adapt their classic animated movies into a live-action version; only "Maleficent" focuses more on the villain rather than the main protagonist of the movie, giving a unique twist to the fairy tale. Pfeiffer previously took some time off from acting to focus on her family before getting back to the big screen last year when she starred in "Mother!" and "Murder On The Orient Express". This year, comic book fans can see her in "Ant-Man and the Wasp", making it her first comic book role since her famous portrayal of Catwoman in 1992's "Batman Returns".
