24 May – After making its world premiere in Italy, the Bront Palarae-produced "One Two Jaga" is heading to America next for the 17th New York Asian Film Festival (NYAFF).
The movie has been picked as NYAFF's Official Selection, as revealed in a FINAS Facebook post, and will be screened at the film festival that will run from 29 June to 15 July 2018.
After launching in Malaysia back in March, the Nam Ron-directed movie made its way to the Udine Far East Film Festival 2018 in Italy the following month, serving as the festival's opening film.
It has yet to receive a screening date in Malaysia.
"One Two Jaga", which highlights real-life issues in Malaysia and explores the dark side of corruption within the country, follows a rookie cop who discovers that his superiors have lost their sense of justice.
NYAFF, organised by Subway Cinema and the Film Society of Lincoln Center (FSLC), will be held at two locations: FSLC and SVA Theatre.
The film festival features contemporary premieres and classic titles, showcasing movies from Southeast Asia, China, Hong Kong, Japan, South Korea and Taiwan.
It also gives out accolades and this year's recipient of its Daniel A. Craft Award for Excellence in Action Cinema has been revealed to be Hong Kong filmmaker Dante Lam.
