Rebecca Ferguson in talks for Stephen King's "Doctor Sleep"

Rebecca Ferguson will star opposite Ewan McGregor is she takes the deal for "Doctor Sleep".

29 Jun–Just two weeks ago, it was confirmed that a "Doctor Sleep" movie is in the making with Ewan McGregor attached to star.

Now The Hollywood Reporter brings word that Rebecca Ferguson is in talks to star opposite Ewan in the horror movie.

It is not specified which character exactly the actress will be playing. It is only known that, as previously revealed, Ewan will play the now-adult Danny Torrance.

"Doctor Sleep" will serve as the sequel to the 1980 horror movie, "The Shining", which was adapted from Stephen King's 1977 horror novel of the same name.

If the upcoming big screen adaptation sticks closely to its source material, King's 2013 horror novel "Doctor Sleep", it will follow Danny Torrance who is now an alcoholic as he tries to cope with the trauma he faced as a child at the Colorado hotel in "The Shining". Danny later uses his 'shining' abilities to help a young girl.

While fans await Ferguson's confirmation for the role, they can catch her first in this year's "Mission: Impossible Fallout" and next year's "The Kid Who Would Be King".
