26 Jul – If you love "Home Alone" and "Deadpool", you're going to love what Ryan Reynolds is coming up with next. The "Deadpool" star is producing a comedy movie inspired by the 1990 Macaulay Culkin-starrer, Deadline reports, and it will be called "Stoned Alone". Based on that title, it really doesn't take much to figure out it's not the most wholesome choice for a family movie night. Hey, just like "Deadpool"! The stoner comedy follows a weed-growing loser in his twenties who, after missing the plane for his ski trip, decides to get high at home instead. Fully high and with paranoia setting in, he has to defend his house when he realises there are thieves breaking into it. Augustine Frizzell will be directing from a script written by Kevin Burrows and Matt Mider. Reynolds is producing through his Fox-based Maximum Effort production company. There's no surprise that Fox would like to tap into its "Home Alone" success again, the original 1990 movie did make a whopping USD476.7 million on a USD18 million budget. It also spawned four sequels from 1992 to 2002.
Meanwhile, yet another of Reynolds' projects, Legendary Entertainment's live-action "Detective Pikachu", has been moved from Universal to Warner Bros. The latter will now handle all distribution for it outside of Japan and China. The Reynolds-starrer is keeping its North American release date of 10 May 2019. (Photo source: Ryan Reynolds' Instagram)
