16 Oct – Starring in a couple of big franchises is great but the scheduling conflicts can be a real headache, just ask Ezra Miller who has to juggle his commitments for "Fantastic Beasts" and "The Flash". Variety brings news that Miller's "The Flash" standalone movie is now possibly looking at a 2021 release date. Why the long wait? It's because Miller first has to return to the set of the third instalment of the "Harry Potter" spinoff to reprise his role as Credence Barebone. "Fantastic Beasts 3" (no official title yet) will begin filming in July 2019. "The Flash" (also not an official title) will have to wait until production wraps for that, so the DC superhero movie could possibly only begin filming in late 2019. "The Flash" didn't exactly have a confirmed release date before but it was originally slated to begin production in March next year, which is now no longer feasible. Though, even if Miller's schedule was clear, the filming still would've been a little delayed because the studio is still tweaking the script. Miller first debuted as Barry Allen a.k.a. the Flash in cameo roles in 2016's "Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice" and "Suicide Squad", before starring in last year's "Justice League". His "The Flash" standalone is among the succession of DC superhero-focused movies planned by Warner Bros. Here's to hoping it will not meet the same fate as the Ben Affleck-led "Batman" and Henry Cavill-led "Superman" standalone movies, which the studio is reportedly no longer moving forward with.
