17 May – As an actor whose name is synonymous to the action genre, Vin Diesel branches out to a different territory with a brand new franchise planned for STXfilms. Diesel will star in an original action comedy flick called "Muscle", which also happens to be his first attempt on the genre, Deadline reported. ""Muscle" is the perfect blend of action and comedy that his millions of devoted fans around the world have come to love him for, and we believe has the potential to become his next big, signature franchise," said Adam Fogelson, Chairman of STXfilms. The action star will also produce the movie alongside Samantha Vincent under their production company, One Race Films. Diesel tried the comedy genre before in "The Pacifier" but his attempt did not take off, prompting him to leave the genre for more action-driven roles. Having both action and comedy fused together in "Muscle", hopefully Diesel can bring out the best of both genres and lead the movie to becoming a franchise as intended. Diesel was last seen in "Avengers: Infinity War" as Groot and has tons of movies coming up besides "Muscle", including two "Fast And The Furious" movies, a fourth movie for both "xXx" and "The Chronicles Of Riddick", and also "Bloodshot".
