Zhang Yimou's "Shadow" to join film festival in Italy


"Shadow" is the latest film from Zhang Yimou.

28 Jul – It was reported that Zhang Yimou's new movie is set to participate in the upcoming Venice Film Festival.

As reported on Mingpao, the news was announced by the organiser during the press conference held on 25 July, revealing that the movie "Shadow" will screen in the Out of Competition section.

It will be joining other international titles including Bradley Cooper's directorial debut, "A Star is Born", and Timothée Chalamet's new film, "Beautiful Boy".

"Shadow", which is described as a historical film that reimagines a story from "Three Kingdoms", stars celebrity couple Deng Chao and Sun Li.

It is also set to premiere at the 2018 Toronto International Film Festival this September.

The upcoming 2018 Venice Film Festival will be held from 29 August to 8 September.
