31 Jul – Ansel Elgort is going back into the driver's seat for the sequel to 2017's "Baby Driver". The 25-year-old revealed in an interview with MTV News that the script to the sequel is done; he's seen it and he thinks "it's gonna happen". Moreover, it will not simply be called "Baby Driver 2". Whatever the new name is though, the actor did not divulge further.
Edgar Wright has talked of a sequel since the movie raced to victory after opening in cinemas in mid-2017, making USD226.9 million at the global box office against its USD34 million budget. Not much have been heard about it until this recent tidbit from Elgort. Presumably, Wright will be directing again and Elgort, who will reprise his role as the title character, will be joined by returning cast Lily James and Jamie Foxx. Kevin Spacey's return might not be so set in stone considering the scandals he's been involved in. In the meantime, fans can catch Elgort in his other upcoming movies, this year's "The Goldfinch" and next year's "West Side Story".
