Hollywood wants Li Bingbing for "Rush Hour" reboot?

Will we see Li Bingbing in a "Rush Hour" reboot?

12 Mar – Rumour has it that Hollywood is making a reboot of "Rush Hour" and is setting their eyes on Chinese star Li Bingbing to portray the role previously played by Jackie Chan.

As reported on HK01, sources recently alleged that STX Studios is currently developing the new project. However, instead of Jackie Chan and Chris Tucker, the studio is looking for two actresses to play the role of Detective Carter and Inspector Lee.

While none has been said about the actress who would play Tucker's character, it was reported that the studio is already interested to cast Li Bingbing in the movie, following her convincing tough female performances in movies such as "Resident Evil: Retribution" and "The Meg".

No further details have been released about the project or its expected release date.

Released in 1998, "Rush Hour" was the vehicle that brought Jackie Chan to Hollywood fame, despite his many attempts to break into the industry throughout the years prior.
