24 Apr - Ever since Leonardo DiCaprio won his long-awaited Oscar in 2016, the actor has been taking a hiatus from the acting world. Worry not fans, as most of you already know, he is making a big screen comeback this year in Quentin Tarantino's "Once Upon a Time in Hollywood". After that, he will be seen leading a new movie by Guillermo del Toro. Well, that is once the deal is finalised since the actor is currently still in talks to star in it, Variety reported. Once he signs on, then he will be starring in del Toro's adaptation of William Lindsay Gresham's novel, "Nightmare Alley". There was previously a 1947 movie made based on the same book, which stars Tyrone Power as a con-man who gets manipulated after teaming up with a female psychiatrist who has an even more corrupt morality.
While this is the second movie for DiCaprio since his Oscar win, it is the first directing gig for del Toro since winning big at the 2018 Oscar for "The Shape of Water". That's not to say the director hasn't been busy since he did produce this year's "Scary Stories to Tell in the Dark" and is also working on his long-time project, "Pinocchio", slated for release in 2021.
