26 Oct– Not only will pop sensation Taylor Swift star in the upcoming big screen adaptation of the 1981 stage musical "Cats, she will also be providing a brand new song for the movie.

The singer-actress wrote it with English composer Andrew Lloyd Webber, who told Variety, "We wrote 90 percent of it pretty much over an afternoon."

Called "Beautiful Ghosts", the song will be heard at least three times in the movie. Of course, Tay Tay herself will be singing it but she will only do so under the end titles. It will first be sung halfway by Francesca Hayward's Victoria, followed by Judi Dench's Old Deuteronomy.

The song is the only new addition to the setlist, the rest of it will be made up of the same songs that Lloyd Webber composed for the original musical.

The duo had not intended to write a song together. Swift met with Lloyd Webber last December to rehearse the song "Macavity the Mystery Cat". When it was mentioned that the composer had written the instrumental basis of a new song and he played it on the piano, the pop star began improvising lyrics and thus begun a new collaboration.

Taylor Swift will be playing Bombalurina in "Cats", releasing in cinemas this December.

The cast also includes James Corden as Bustopher Jones, Jason Derulo as Rum Rum Tugger, Idris Elba as Macavity, Jennifer Hudson as Grizabella, Ian McKellen as Gus the Theatre Cat, Rebel Wilson as Jennyanydots and French dancers Les Twins as Plato and Socrates.
