Wang Jingchun and Yong Mei star in "So Long, My Son".

19 Feb - Chinese actors Wang Jingchun and Yong Mei recently made history by winning Best Actor and Actress at the 69th Berlin International Film Festival.

As reported on Mingpao, the two stars, who won for their roles in the Wang Xiaoshuai's "So Long, My Son", not only became the first actors from the same country to win the category, but also the same film.

In the movie, Wang and Yong play a couple who are forced to cope with the loss of their only son, who died in an accident.

On the other hand, Zhang Yimou's drama, "One Second" was removed from competition several days before its premiere due to "technical reasons", which was highlighted by French actress and jury head Juliette Binoche, who expressed her sadness over the withdrawal.

This year's Golden Bear prize was given to "Synonyms", a movie by Israeli director Nadav Lapid.
