15 Oct – Earlier this month it was reported that director Matt Reeves was eyeing five potential stars to don the Catwoman mask for his upcoming "The Batman". It seems that he's finally come to a decision, though surprisingly, the chosen actress isn't among the shortlisted ones previously revealed, but it is in line with reports saying that he wanted a woman of colour to take on the role. According to TheWrap, Zoe Kravitz has been cast to play Catwoman in "The Batman". Since the movie's plot is being kept under wrap, not much is revealed about her role except that it will be seen opposite Robert Pattinson's titular superhero.
Other cast members include Jeffery Wright, who will reportedly play Commissioner Jim Gordon, and Jonah Hill, who might play either The Penguin or The Riddler. Reeves, who also wrote the screenplay and is producing the movie, will begin filming it in the U.K. in January, for release in North American cinemas on 25 June 2021. Kravitz, who's starred in movies like "Mad Max: Fury Road" and "Fantastic Beasts: The Crimes of Grindelwald", previously voiced the animated version of Catwoman in 2017's "The Lego Batman Movie". She will be seen next in musical drama "Viena and the Fantomes" and the TV series "High Fidelity."
