21 Apr – Fans will have to wait four months longer than originally expected to see Robert Pattinson in action as the titular superhero of "The Batman", since the movie has just been postponed to a later date in 2021.

The Matt Reeves-directed new Caped Crusader solo vehicle was supposed to open in North American cinemas on 25 June 2021. Variety reported that it has now been pushed to 1 October 2021.

Production on "The Batman" started earlier this year in the U.K. but was halted last month due to the global COVID-19 pandemic, which not only suspended productions but also forced cinemas worldwide to initiate temporary shutdown to avoid further spread of the coronavirus.

Other DC titles under Warner Bros. that have also been shifted to new dates are "Shazam! 2" and "The Flash".

"Shazam! 2" will no longer open on 1 April 2022 and will instead be released on 4 November 2022.

The release of the sequel to 2019's "Shazam!" has been delayed seven months.

Meanwhile, "The Flash" gets an earlier release date, as it's been moved forward a month from 1 July 2022 to 2 June 2022. It was surprisingly not taken off the release schedule despite Ezra Miller's recent controversy, though the actor could possibly be replaced if found guilty of the assault.

As for Gal Gadot's "Wonder Woman 1984", after previously being pushed from 5 June 2020 to 14 August 2020, it is currently still slated for release on the same date.

Christopher Nolan's "Tenet" is also still set to open in cinemas this 17 July, though this could change if cinemas are still closed this summer.

Three of the studio's 2020 titles, animated film "Scoob!" (15 May), Jon M. Chu-helmed movie adaptation of Lin-Manuel Miranda's "In the Heights" (26 June) and James Wan's horror thriller "Malignant", all currently remain undated.
