17 Sep – The Scarlett Johansson-starring "Black Widow" might be the next blockbuster to face a schedule change, yet again.

Variety is reporting that Disney might be delaying the movie's release in North American cinemas. There's no word on whether this will affect its international release but most likely that will be the case.

The Marvel superhero's solo vehicle was supposed to be opening in North America this 6 November, having been previously moved from its original 1 May 2020 release following cinemas' temporary closures due to the pandemic.

In some territories, such as the United Kingdom and Malaysia, it is slated to open a little earlier on 28 October or 29 October.

Reportedly, the studio is considering the delay following the less than encouraging box office returns for major titles like "Mulan" in China and "Tenet" in North America recently.

News of this possible delay follows Warner Bros.' decision to delay "Wonder Woman 1984" to this Christmas Day. The Gal Gadot-led DCEU sequel was supposed to open in cinemas next month, prior to its latest rescheduling.

If "Black Widow" is delayed too, cinemas with no major blockbusters to screen in the remaining few months of 2020, aside from Daniel Craig's final Bond movie, "No Time to Die". For now, the 25th Bond movie remains in its November slot.

There, there Jamie Foxx, "Soul" will eventually get its release.

Aside from "Black Widow", another title that might be facing changes in its release is the Disney-Pixar animated film, "Soul".

With a voice cast starring the likes of Jamie Foxx and Tina Fey, the movie that was originally set for release back in June is currently slated to open this November.

It's been mentioned that it might be moving to Disney+ instead of getting a theatrical release, like what was done with "Artemis Fowl" back in June, though a Disney rep has reportedly debunked its rumoured move to the streaming platform.

Nothing is set at the moment but if the studio does make release changes to "Black Widow" and "Soul", most likely the release of upcoming movies like "Eternals" (currently set for 12 February 2021), "Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings" (7 May 2021), "Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness" (5 November 2021) and "Thor: Love and Thunder" (18 February 2022) will also be delayed.
