21 Nov – It's been almost a year since it was confirmed that a third "Deadpool" instalment is in development, but we haven't heard much from it until now. Star Ryan Reynolds, who also serves as a producer in the movie franchise, has welcomed Wendy Molyneux and Lizzie Molyneux-Loeglin on board to pen the script, according to Deadline. After spending the past month meeting with writers to hear their pitch for the third movie, Reynolds picked the duo as their take was deemed as the "perfect fit" for what the actor and Marvel Studios wanted. The sisters, best known for writing episodes of "Bob's Burgers", are the first female writers to join the franchise. There are no details on the plot yet but reportedly, it will remain R-rated like the previous two instalments. If this is true, this will make "Deadpool 3" the first R-rated entry in the Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU).
Another exciting update – though still unconfirmed at this point – is the addition of a new face in the third instalment, which is none other than Reynolds' "Red Notice" co-star, Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson. We Got This Covered brought words a couple of days back that The Rock has been in talks with the studio for a role in "Deadpool 3". Reportedly, Kevin Feige is "eager" to have the star on board and this is not the only project that they've discussed. So maybe after we see The Rock in "Black Adam", we'll see him donning a Marvel superhero spandex next? While we wait for this to happen, first we can look forward to seeing the Reynolds-Johnson team up alongside "Wonder Woman" star Gal Gadot in "Red Notice", which has wrapped up productions recently though Netflix has yet to set a release date.
