17 Apr – As you loyal Cinema Online readers would be aware of by now, we have recently introduced a Video section on our website. Short films are among the videos highlighted on the page, and we have Feisk Productions to thank for the films that they have shared with us so far. (Stay tuned, they will be sharing more!) Feisk Productions' horror series, "The Spooky Adventures of Ilham and Gaffran", which is described as a quirky take on Malaysian horror, takes viewers on a different spooky adventure in every episode. It's an interesting watch for Malaysian horror enthusiasts as it is rooted in local paranormal beliefs. Among the episodes are "Rumah", a tale of the titular duo investigating a case involving a mysterious house; "Baby Monitor", in which a young father hears something usual through the baby monitor; "Pejabat", set in an office building with an eerie tradition; and many more.
Founded in December 2010 by Feisal and Iskander Azizuddin, the brothers personally oversee all stages of productions done by their company. The duo focuses mostly on horror films due to their fascination with it, which they attribute to spending a lot of time during their childhood at their grandparents' large hilltop home – an old house with "lots of dark corners" and supposedly, a penunggu (invisible watchman) too! Feisk Productions started with just five team members, but the number has since more than doubled. It has produced tons of short films and also introduced OhSnapTV, a website and a YouTube channel, to showcase them on. Some of the works that can be found on OhSnapTV are reality game show "Kampung Quest" and "We Need to Know", an official selection of the 2018 Halloweenapalooza Film Festival. Aside from producing short films, Feisal and Iskander have also produced two feature films. Horror thriller "Suraya" opened in cinemas last January, while fantasy epic "Temenggor" has yet to be released. Watch Feisk Productions' short films on Cinema Online right here.
