12 May – Just hours ago, Hollywood comedian-actor Ben Stiller tweeted that his father Jerry Stiller has "passed away from natural causes".

"He was a great dad and grandfather, and the most dedicated husband to Anne for about 62 years. He will be greatly missed. Love you Dad," he tweeted, along with a photo of his late father.

Jerry Stiller had a long career in Hollywood himself, having debuted in the entertainment industry in the late 1950s. He had played many comedic roles on both the small screen and the big screen, most notably as Arthur Spooner in "The King of Queens" and the Emmy-nominated role Frank Costanza in "Seinfeld".

Film-wise, the late 92-year-old started his silver screen career in an uncredited role in 1970's 'Lovers and Other Strangers". His last big screen appearance was in his son Ben's 2016 movie, "Zoolander 2".

He was also one half of the comedy duo Stiller and Meara, with his wife Anne Meara, who passed away in 2015.

He is survived by Ben, daughter Amy Stiller and two grandchildren.
