13 Oct – Following the reinstatement of the Conditional Movement Control Order (CMCO) in Kuala Lumpur, Selangor, and Putrajaya from tomorrow onwards, all cinemas in the Klang Valley area will once again cease operations during the two-week period. GSC, TGV Cinemas and MBO Cinemas were among the first to announce the temporary closure of their Klang Valley locations, as well as other film exhibitors in the area such as LFS Cinemas, mmCineplexes, CineHouse and Amerin Cineplex. The CMCO in Kuala Lumpur, Selangor, and Putrajaya will take effect from 12.01 am on 14 October (Wednesday) until 27 October 2020 (Tuesday). Prior to today, only cinemas in Klang faced temporary shutdown when CMCO was once again enforced in the district last Thursday due to the high number of cases. The decision to reinstate it in the whole Klang Valley area was announced yesterday. Meanwhile, all cinemas in Sabah have been temporarily closed as CMCO is reinstated statewide as of today. Last week, only several districts were placed under CMCO but due to the rising cases in the state, the government has decided to enforce it statewide from today until 26 October 2020. Note that there are also cinemas not located in the abovementioned states that have been temporarily closed. Keep up-to-date on Malaysia's cinema closures right here.
