30 Jan – Producer Dan Lin recently confirmed that both Mel Gibson and Danny Glover will be returning for the fifth instalment of their hit action flick, "Lethal Weapon".

Lin, who spoke about the upcoming project during the THR Roundtable to discuss his Netflix film, "The Two Popes" recently, shared, "We're trying to make the last Lethal Weapon movie. And [Richard] Donner's coming back. The original cast is coming back."

"It's just amazing. The story itself is very personal to him. Mel and Danny are ready to go, so it's about the script," he added.

Can the duo recapture the memorable action of the past?

It is noted that back in 2018, Donner - who helmed all four of the original movies - stated that the fifth film would unlikely be in production due to issues concerning negotiations.

The filmmaker also previously described the story for the fifth movie as being "very dark" and an emotional conclusion to the franchise.

Glover was last seen in the comedy, "Jumanji: The Next Level", while Gibson had recently starred in Daddy's Home 2".
