14 Dec – Back in January this year, news broke that Michelle Yeoh was in talks to join Marvel's "Shang-Chi and The Legend of The Ten Rings". The Malaysian actress has finally confirmed that she has accepted the role. In a recent post on Yeoh's Instagram, she shared a photo of the movie's main cast, captioned, "Finally... it is official and Yes I am part of Shang-Chi, the first Asian superhero film...Thank you Marvel." Based on the photo, Yeoh will be playing Jiang Nan, though not much is known about the character for now. Also part of the cast are Tony Leung who plays villain Wenwu, the leader of the Ten Rings, Fala Chen as Jiang Li, Awkwafina as Katy, Ronny Chiang as Jon Jon, Florian Monteanu as Razor Fist and Meng'er Zhang as Xialing. "Shang-Chi and The Legend of The Ten Rings" is scheduled to open in North American cinemas on 9 July 2021.

This marks the second Marvel role for Yeoh, who previously appeared in 2017's "Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2" as Aleta Ogord. Aside from "Shang-Chi and The Legend of The Ten Rings", Yeoh will be featured in several other Hollywood movies next year, including a live-action appearance in "Gunpowder Milkshake" as well as voice roles in "Blazing Samurai" and "Minions: The Rise of Gru".
