FFM 31 postponed to new dates

FINAS Chairman Datuk Hans Isaac announced the postponement of FFM 31.

17 Mar – There's no denying that the COVID-19 outbreak has now reached a critical stage as the local government has issued a 14-day Movement Control Order, which affects the 31st Malaysia Film Festival or Filem Festival Malaysia ke-31 (FFM 31).

The postponement of FFM 31, which was originally scheduled for 9 and 11 April, was announced by FINAS Chairman Datuk Hans Isaac.

"The change of date is due to the widening spread of COVID-19. FINAS also wants to announce that the FFM 31 launch ceremony will still be held in Kuala Lumpur while the awards ceremony that was originally set to be held Encore, Malacca, will now be moved to a different location in the Klang Valley," said Hans as quoted by Harian Metro.

The press conference that was originally scheduled to be held today regarding the FFM 31 postponement also faced a last-minute cancellation, following the announcement made by Prime Minister Tan Sri Muhyiddin Yassin yesterday evening.
