2 Oct – While previously several local films opted to screen their movies on on-demand channels before hitting the big screen, "Roh" took a different route by opening in cinemas first. Even though other film producers were worried and unwilling to take the risk, "Roh" producer Kuman Pictures did the opposite and it proved to be a success when the horror movie earned good receptions in both Malaysia and Singapore. Now, popular video streaming platform Mubi has announced that it will be streaming the Emir Ezwan-helmed movie exclusively on the platform starting from today, 2 October. "Roh" previously made its mark in history when it was able to stay in cinemas for six weeks, with a box office collection of more than RM500,000, despite the COVID-19 pandemic. "Roh", set in a wartime era, follows a poor family living at the edge of the forest who welcomes a mysterious girl into their home. Strange things begin haunting them after the girl tells them of an ominous prediction.
