Sabah is reinstating CMCO, cinemas in the state to face temporary reclosure again.

6 Oct – With the reinstatement of the Conditional Movement Control Order (CMCO) in Sabah, cinemas in the state are now required to temporarily shut down again from tomorrow, 7 October.

GSC Suria, GSC 1Borneo, MBO Imago, Growball and City Cineplex have confirmed their closure from tomorrow until next week, while Megalong Cineplex has commenced temporary reclosure since yesterday.

The cinemas' reopening date is subject to the end date of the state's CMCO, which is currently slated to end on 16 October.

As announced by the recently sworn-in Sabah Chief Minister, Datuk Seri Hajiji Noor, CMCO is only reinstated in Kota Kinabalu, Penampang and Putatan, starting from 12.01am on 7 October.

Other districts, which record lower numbers of COVID-19 cases, will continue with the Recovery MCO (RMCO) similar to other states in Malaysia.

Exception applies to Tawau, Lahad Datu, Kunak and Semporna, where the 14-day Targeted Enhanced MCO (TEMCO) has been in effect since 29 September and is slated to end this 12 October.
