30 Jun – To say that fans weren't exactly thrilled with the Skywalker trilogy of the "Star Wars" franchise would be quite an understatement, maybe that's why Disney and Lucasfilm are now working on erasing it altogether. It's just a rumour at this point, but the likelihood of it happening is pretty big since it originated from the Doomcock Overlord DVD YouTube channel, as reported by Cosmic Book News. Doomcock claimed that last three movies, 2015's "The Force Awakens", 2017's "The Last Jedi" and 2019's "The Rise of Skywalker", will be nullified by creating a Star Wars Multiverse that will isolate them from George Lucas' original trilogy and prequel trilogy that comprise six movies from 1977 until 2005. By doing so, the events from the sequel trilogy "will be removed from canon, isolated in their own alternate timeline and regarded as an Elseworlds-like installment under the label of Star Wars Legends." This can be done using a concept made canon via the "Star Wars Rebels" animated series.
"In the Season 4 episode 13 installment titled 'A World Between Worlds,' the concept of the Veil of The Force was introduced, a mystical dimension of The Force that connects all time and space," Doomcock explained. "I have received confirmation from two additional sources claiming that this is spot on -- that indeed LucasFilm realizes they have a massive problem on their hands, that the Star Wars franchise is all but dead, and despite Kathleen Kennedy's hatred of this idea, Lucasfilm is preparing to render the Sequel Trilogy null and void." The proof of this could be seen in last year's movie, he claimed, in the scene where Rey confronts her dark side and there are mirrors in the background. This is allegedly a glimpse into the Veil of The Force. Now, why should Doomcock's rumour be believed? He does have some credibility as he previously revealed Skywalker spoilers and spilled on the various problems at Marvel Studios with Brie Larson and her MCU character Captain Marvel, before the studio announced a replacement for the superhero's solo movie's director and writing team. The sequel trilogy's first and final movies were helmed by J.J. Abrams while the second movie was directed by Rian Johnson. The latter, who recently defended Lucas' prequel trilogy by calling it "gorgeous", will be returning for a new "Star Wars" trilogy, though there are no updates on that for now as he is focusing on the sequel to his 2019 hit "Knives Out".
