Stream movies with free data from local telcos

Movie-lovers can continue streaming movies with the additional
data provided by local telcos.

26 Mar – It can be hard for those who depend on mobile data to stream their favourite movies or series during the Movement Control Order (MCO).

Knowing this, telcos in Malaysia have each come up with their own additional or free data plan for their users.

Digi gives its Postpaid users free 1GB data from 8am to 6pm daily. Prepaid users get the same amount of free data, but on a weekly basis. Digi Business customers, meanwhile, will get 2GB additional data added to their current existing quota.

This is good news for movie-lovers subscribed to Digi, as the "yellow network" also offers a 15% rebate on the first month of their Amazon Prime Video subscription. Digi started this offer last December, when it first introduced the Amazon service to Malaysia.

As for Maxis, Postpaid users can redeem a free 3GB Mobile Internet Pass that is valid for 30 days, while Hotlink Prepaid users who purchase the HotlinkMU #StayHome internet pass will enjoy a whopping 20GB worth of free data.

Yoodo users will receive 1GB free data weekly during this MCO until 27 April 2020, which is credited to the users every Monday.

U Mobile is doubling the quota for Prepaid and Postpaid hotspot usage, with the former getting 6GB while the latter gets either 10GB, 60GB or 100GB.

TM's Unifi, aside from letting viewers enjoy all of its TV channels for free, is also giving its Bebas Prepaid users unlimited data. All they have to do is subscribe to the free Bebas weekly pass. Its Postpaid subscribers, meanwhile, get 999GB of hotspot data for free.

With all these free data, movie-lovers now can enjoy watching heaps of movies while they wait for cinemas nationwide to resume operations.
