3 May - Although the Hailee Steinfeld-starrer, "Bumblebee" was not as successful as the previous "Transformers" movies, it looks like Paramount will continue to churn out more of these projects - with the next one to be released in 2022. The Wrap reported that "Judas and the Black Messiah" star Dominique Fishback is now in final talks to participate in the next "Transformers" project, which has already cast "Hamilton" star Anthony Ramos.
The said project will be directed by Steven Caple Jr, who previously helmed "Creed II". However, no further information has been revealed about the storyline, except that it is expected to be completely separate from the continuity created by Michael Bay's Transformers movies. It is noted that the 2018 movie, "Bumblebee" - which amassed USD 468 million at the box office, was the first of the multiple "Transformers" spin-offs that Paramount has been developing since the success of the franchise that launched in 2007. Aside from the upcoming Fishback-starrer, another "Transformers" project is also in development - to be directed by Puerto Rican filmmaker, Angel Manuel Soto.
