31 Dec – More than a decade after announcing their separation, Arnold Schwarzenegger and Maria Shriver are finally and officially divorced. According to TMZ, the divorce was finalised on 28 December in LA Superior Court, a month after a private judge mediated the whole thing. As to why the divorce process took such a long time, it was reported that both Shriver and Schwarzenegger, who did not sign a prenuptial agreement, had a complex property settlement agreement, with the two reportedly agreeing to split their estimated USD 400 million assets down the middle.
The "Terminator" star married Shriver in 1986 in Hyannis, Massachusetts, and they have four children together, including Katherine, who is now married to actor Chris Pratt. The crack in their marriage began to surface following the bombshell that Schwarzenegger fathered a child, Joseph Baena, with the family's housekeeper, Mildred Baena. Despite their separation, the former couple remained cordial with one another.
