"Parasite" director Bong Joon-ho to helm an animated feature

Bong Joon-ho's "Parasite" won four Oscars at the 92nd Academy Awards last year

15 May – After the success of "Parasite", Oscar winner Bong Joon-ho is set to make his debut in the world of animation with his upcoming collaboration with Korea's VFX production house, 4th Creative Party.

The news was shared by the said company in a statement released on 13 May, saying that Bong has been working on an animated feature about humans and deep-sea creatures for the past few years and had just finished the screenplay back in January.

It is also stated that the director is also working on the screenplay for an English-language film to be produced before the animation.


Bong's "Parasite" was a worldwide hit

This is not the first time Boon worked with 4th Creative Party, having collaborated with one another in "The Host", "Snowpiercer", and "Okja".

Bong made history last year when he won four Academy Awards for his masterpiece, "Parasite" - winning Best Director, Best Original Screenplay, Best International Feature, as well as the coveted Best Picture.


Bong worked with 4th Creative Party in his previous movies including Netflix's "Okja"
