CROSSCUT ASIA Delicious! Online Film Festival to run next month

Food-themed movies from Asian filmmakers will be featured

20 Dec – The Tokyo International Film Festival, in collaboration with the Japan Foundation Asia Center, is bringing you to the exquisite CROSSCUT ASIA Delicious! Online Film Festival.

After a year of hiatus following the pandemic, the said festival decides to go online for its seventh edition, featuring "delicious" food-themed films from Asia.

Among the seven movies to be featured at the online festival include Singapore's "Wanton Mee" directed by Eric Khoo, Philippine's "Namets" by Jay Abello, as well as Indonesia's "Aruna & Her Palate", which stars Dian Sastrowardoyo and Nicholas Saputra.

On the other hand, there will also be several other programmes, including "Encore! CROSSCUT ASIA", which screens films handpicked from past editions of CROSSCUT ASIA at TIFF. This shall include "Pete Teo Special", which consists of 14 short films made by Malaysian filmmakers that was released by Pete Teo under the title "15Malaysia". These include Ho Yuhang's "Here in My Home", Benji Lim's "Vote!", and Kamal Sabran's "I Go".

Pete Teo himself will be making a special video especially for the festival.

The upcoming event will be running from 21 January to 3 February 2022. And registration will start from 18 January, absolutely free!
