3 Dec – Danny DeVito has no qualms reprising his legendary role as Batman's supervillain Penguin/Oswald Cobblepot - that is if Tim Burton is planning to make another Batman movie. The actor, who said that the role in the 1992 film, "Batman Returns" was the highlight of his career, shared his thoughts about revisiting the character in an interview with Forbes, saying, "I feel like it's not out of the question that The Penguin will return someday, but this is all up to Tim, whether or not Tim wants to do this." "I would say that could be in the cards because we ain't dead yet. We could do a continuation of what we had in the past because that was truly a brilliant movie. They afforded me that opportunity and I feel very grateful and would I like to revisit it? Why not!"
At the same time, DeVito still thinks that Colin Farrell will be amazing in the role for the upcoming DC movie, "The Batman," that has Robert Pattinson as the Dark Knight. "He's one of my favorite actors. I can't wait!" he enthused. It is noted that DeVito previously made his Gotham City comeback by guest writing a new comic book, "Bird Cat Love", which is a love story about Penguin and Catwoman. The story will be part of DC's upcoming "Gotham City Villains" anthology.
