17 May – Although there have been speculations over the years of a sequel to the 2014 movie, "Edge of Tomorrow", Emily Blunt is now saying that there may not be part two after all.

The actress, who stars in the movie alongside Tom Cruise, shared her thoughts about the sequel after it was reported that the script has already been completed, stating that it would be difficult to pull it off due to the budget.

"Honestly, I think the movie is too expensive. I just don't know how we're going to do it," she said in an interview with Howard Stern.

The movie has two big stars in the likes of Emily Blunt and Tom Cruise

It is noted that the original film was not a big hit when it came out more than six years ago, despite garnering a following since then. It grossed USD 370 million, yes, but against a production budget of USD 178 million.

In a prior interview, director Doug Liman stated that making the sequel will depend entirely on the stars at its centre, but it is noted that Tom Cruise is already busy what with the upcoming production of "Mission: Impossible 8" and the global press tour for "Top Gun: Maverick".

Based on the manga "All You Need is Kill", "Edge of Tomorrow" stars Cruise as Major William Cage, a soldier sent to fight against alien creatures and finds himself re-living the same day over and over again every time he dies.

Meanwhile, Blunt will be seen next in "A Quiet Place Part II".
